Of British-Pakistani heritage, she has lived in Stuttgart, Germany since 2020. She studied Musicology and Foreign Languages at King’s College London, followed by a master’s degree in vocal performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Winner of the second prize at the John Cage Interpretation Awards Halberstadt 2021, Mimi was also a finalist in the Royal Overseas League Singing Competition in 2022 and the Peter Hulsen Orchestral Song Award 2024.

She made her professional debut in the world premiere of Wake by Giorgio Battistelli with Birmingham Opera Company in 2018, and in 2022 performed the role of Max in Where the Wild Things Are by Knussen with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra.

She has also appeared with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under the direction of Thomas Adès; at Staatsoper Stuttgart in Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny by Weill; at Staatsoper Hamburg in a world premiere by Ludger Vollmer; and was engaged as cover for the new opera by Beat Furrer at the Opernhaus Zurich.

In the concert field, she has performed works by Brian Elias, Elisabeth Lutyens, as well as premieres by Michael Finnissy and Rasmus Zwicki. She has also collaborated with ensembles such as the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group under Vimbayi Kaziboni, Peter Rundel, Johannes Kalitzke, Decoder Ensemble, and le Nouvel Ensemble Moderne.
