Michael Pinsky

Michael Pinsky

A British artist whose work challenges the status quo around climate change, urban design, and social well-being. His projects explore the use of public space through provocative installations, both in galleries and open environments. He combines the roles of artist, urban planner, activist, and researcher, working closely with local communities so that the environment itself informs his methodology.

His work has been exhibited in renowned venues such as Tate Britain, the Saatchi Gallery, and the Chengdu Museum of Contemporary Art, among many others. His installation Pollution Pods has been presented internationally at events such as COP29 in Dubai and the United Nations Climate Action Summit in New York.

The piece has been recognised by Stir, Connaissance des Arts, and BBC Culture for its impact on public perception of climate change.

Michael Pinsky holds a doctorate from the Royal College of Art and has received awards from Arts Council England, the British Council, and the Wellcome Trust. His exhibition Pontis was a finalist for the Gulbenkian Prize for Museums.
