Producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist, strongly influenced by his family tradition. His maternal grandfather was a musician of mambo, danzón and jazz, while his paternal grandfather was a musician of the son tradition. He began his professional career in music at the age of fifteen. He is a member and founder of the group SONEX (son jarocho fusion) and producer of the group Bailando’s most recent album. Alongside his artistic career, Helio has taught percussion, son jarocho, as well as music initiation and creation workshops, both in Xalapa and Tulum, Mexico, and in cities across the United States, including New York, Chicago, Texas, Missouri, Washington, California and Arizona.
