
Carlos Cruz Núñez
He has been part of Secretaría de Cultura’s orchestra programme since 2014. During this time, he has served as orchestra coordinator, itinerant instructor, conductor and instructor of Banda Sinfónica de la Escuela de Música J. Isabel Sosa de Salvatierra, as well as of the orchestras of León, Purísima del Rincó and Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil Estatal. He graduated from Universidad de Guanajuato as a music teacher. He currently oversees the training coordination for Vientos Musicales para la Gente and is responsible for composing music and preparing materials for the ensembles that form part of the programme.
He has arranged and composed for various types of ensembles, notably Antares, a commissioned work by ICL for Orquesta Sinfónica Pinto Reyes within the context of the 2020 Festival Internacional de Arte Contemporáneo, FIACmx, and the fugue Amén from Mozart’s Requiem, based on the edition by Richard Maunder and Pánczél Tamás, created in memory of the COVID-19 victims and premiered at the Senado of Mexico’s Republic.
