A Root 同根生 

It is a world fusion ensemble consisting of instruments such as sheng, ruan, liuqin, piano, double bass and percussions that started in 2016. Intermingling Taiwanese and Western instrumental music, the ensemble creates soundscapes that cross musical cultures and geographical boundaries, combining jazz, indie and urban folk in a unique expression of world music between the modern and the traditional. Transforming the spirit of traditional music and sharing the spirit of Taiwan that is rooted in the subconscious is what has given them their essence. A Root is composed of professional Taiwanese musicians who are masters of creative musical storytelling inspired by the environment and space. Coming from different artistic backgrounds and life experiences, the five musical artists gather in their hometown Yilan, as a starting point to experiment and create a new musical spectrum.
