Originally from Xichú, Guanajuato, he is a musician, dancer, poet, cultural promoter and social sciences teacher. For 18 years, Velázquez has embraced what he calls "his destiny": music and words, joining the project La Prodigiosa Roots, a ska and reggae band from the city of Querétaro. For 10 years he has been part of Los Leones de la Sierra de Xichú where has toured national and international stages carrying the tradition of the huapango arribeño. He started the project Palabra viva with which he has participated in forums such as the Festival Calle genera in Monterrey or the Jornada iberoamericana de jóvenes poetas in Medellín, Colombia. He has collaborated with artists and groups such as Gorrión Serrano, Héctor Infanzón, Danger Alto Kalibre and Roberto Silva, to mention a few.
