Sofia Pintzou, born in Greece in 1977, has developed a distinguished career in the world of dance. She studied at the Faculty of Sport and Science at the University of Athens, the Manu Rallu Professional Dance School, and the National School of Greek Dance (SDSC). 

 

Her extensive professional experience as a dancer has led her to collaborate with renowned choreographers and international companies. She has worked with figures such as Sasha Waltz and has been involved in projects at Choreo Lab Zürich – Warsaw, Satu Tuomisto + NOW Dance Company, the Opernballet Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Staatstheater Kassel, Renato Zanella, the Hellenic Dance Company and the Greek National Opera, among others. 

 

For her portrayal of Eve in An Eve and an Adam, she won the Årets Räumest Award for Best Dance Performance at the Granhøj Dans Festival in 2019. At the 2018 Aegean International Festival, she danced the lead role in Elektra by Renato Zanella, with music by Mikis Theodorakis. The production was filmed by Asteris Kutulas. Under the direction of David Hermann, she created the role of Elektra in Orestie by Yannis Xenakis at the Deutsche Oper Berlin in 2014.

 

Sofia has also ventured into film and dance videos; additionally, she has created her own choreographies and stands out as a teacher in various contexts.
