Felipe Riveros Trío

Sesión Palo Quemado

* Programme subject to change

The trio presents Sesión Palo Quemado, their new album recorded in 2024 and released in two volumes during 2025: Vol. I and Vol. II. Captured in a single take at Estudio Palo Quemado, the album was mixed by musician Nicolás Ríos.

The repertoire includes original compositions such as Astor, written for the opening of the Buenos Aires Jazz Festival as a tribute to Piazzolla; El tres notas, a piece that playfully explores the power of minimalism; and Nueva Ciudad, inspired by the peaceful demonstrations of 2018 in Santiago de Chile.

Also added to the programme are Paris, Uplifting, Santiago, and Disco Dance, pieces that traverse different atmospheres and sonic landscapes. The programme is completed by Everything I Love, a Cole Porter classic that the trio has made their own in performance.

"'Despite the time that has passed since we recorded, I still feel the pieces are current. I don’t think my compositions age, because they’re vehicles for exploring improvisation, I’m always adding something new. These pieces stay with you for the rest of your life', he explains, referring to the eight tracks he recorded with Sebastián Jordán (trumpet), Claudio Rubio (tenor sax), Félix Lecaros (drums), and Pablo Menares (double bass).”
