Based in San Andrés Tuxtla, Veracruz, this Semillero was founded in 2018 with the goal of strengthening the cultural identity of children and young people through Son Jarocho, its music, poetry, dance, and community traditions. It is part of the Semilleros Creativos programme of Sistema Nacional de Fomento Musical, promoted by Secretaría de Cultura. It currently serves 25 participants between the ages of 7 and 17, who receive comprehensive training covering not only traditional musical performance but also zapateado and the fandango’s lyrical tradition.
