ÍNTEGRO

Tensar el presente/Hilar el futuro (1984-2024)

* Programme subject to change

A showcase that challenges chronology and weaves an enigmatic narrative through forty years of innovative art.

ÍNTEGRO presents a collection of works that spans from its beginnings to reinterpretations of more recent pieces. This exhibition is a rich condensation of experiences that explore various themes developed over four decades, such as romantic bonds, mediated imagery, violence, ritual, and myth. Under the title Tensar el presente/Hilar el futuro, the presentation brings together performers from ÍNTEGRO’s original group alongside more recent collaborators, creating a unique narrative that moves away from traditional chronology to offer an enigmatic perspective on the group’s history.

Press quotes

“Tensar el presente / hilar el futuro (o cómo saltar de una tumba urbana para re-existir a plenitud el tiempo final). ÍNTEGRO shakes us once again. Risking what might seem a phenomenological oxymoron, the bold proposition in the title of this latest creation by the renowned group ÍNTEGRO could be understood as an aseptic exercise in existence, as the only way to smooth out the time remaining on this plane and discover whether transcendence is, at the very least, possible.”

Javier Monroy Cervantes, journalist

“The beauty of truth never settles for being just harmony, a pleasant ornament, or a piece of an artifact that, deep down, only disguises its profound emptiness with flowery language or visual tricks. Beauty is also nerve, rupture, a contained scream, which only serves to enhance, to give human breath and gravity to its rare elegance.”

Óscar Malca, writer and journalist

“ÍNTEGRO: a social reflection through the performing arts.”

Xenia Martínez, Diario Gestión, Peru

"For forty years, Peruvian culture, its poetry, history, and ancestral traditions, has found in ÍNTEGRO the collective that works with these values through the language of the body, in an interdisciplinary dynamic that integrates dance, theatre, and visual and electronic arts."
